Resonators
Plastic resonators are considerably less expensive than their aluminum alternative. They weigh a bit more and sound just a little less vibrant. They are made from white vinyl and are resistant to dents and scratches.
Wood resonators give marimbas a more intimate sound. A good way to compare the sound of wood resonators to aluminum resonators is like comparing the sound of a woodwind quintet to a brass quintet.
Aluminum resonators maximizes the volume of any bar.
