This marimba, serial number 107, was designed and built in 2003. The Indianapolis Symphony's Craig Hetrick ordered this instrument to complement the other instruments in his percussion section.
The Baltic Birch frame and plastic resonators are cost-saving aspects of the instrument. All of the hardware is solid aluminum and stainless steel, custom built in the Planet Marimba shop. This instrument was showcased in the PAS convention of 2003 in Louisville.
